Information

Why did I create a layout archive? Well, let's just say this site is one of my very first web portfolio. I like to keep things organized and this is a way to keep track of all the layouts I've created in Serenity-Skies.net. The network was only established in February 2006, but there were already sites that have been created since August 2005 and were transfered. After that, the network just kept growing. Currently, most of my sites only have one layout, but that will change soon enough in time.

So if you would like to see my early work or know how my "web graphic skills" have improved/changed over the past few years, you're more than welcome to. I'm always open to experimenting with different layout styles and there are a lot of things out there that inspire me to do so.

Remember this website is not a free graphic site and even though the past layouts are not being used anymore, I would appreciate it if nothing is taken. Cheers!

How I Design My Layouts 101

  • Layouts are created in a 800×600 canvas.
  • The layouts are viewable in resolutions of 1024×768 or higher.
  • All layouts are Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari friendly.
  • The latest screenshots are taken using the Mozilla Firefox web browser, either in a Macintosh OS or Windows OS. Older layouts were screen-capped using Internet Explorer.
  • Utilities

  • Adobe Photoshop CS2
  • Adobe ImageReady CS2
  • Notepad
  • TextEdit
  • About Pop Art

This archive was previously called Flashbacks and it was only so because I couldn't find a "cool" name. Then I realized that I also display my current designs here as well and the name was not appropriate for the site's purpose anymore.

Thus, I went on a little name hunt and decided to name this archive using an art term. I think that Pop Art suits it for now because I've been noticing a pattern that I'm basing my designs with what's trendy and modern these days.

Pop art in literal terms is a type of art, so for a more detailed definition I provided one below. Credit goes to Apple's Dictionary application.

Pop Art: noun. art based on modern popular culture and the mass media, esp. as a critical or ironic comment on traditional fine art values.

    SKYREMIX Productions

After further thinking, I have finally come to a decision for a new "design" name! SKYREMIX is the result and it's my little dream name for a future art/design portfolio of some sort. So far only my recent 2007-present designs have been given the name in the layout footers.

    Darksky Designs 2005-2006

What exactly was the meaning behind DarkSky Designs? You may have noticed (I highly doubt you did) that in every disclaimer/footer in my sites, I would always add, DarkSky Designs. Well, it's just another one of my signatures that I like to put after every layout I've created.
